Younger children and infants are susceptible also because their organs are just developing. And if you disrupt a child's development of the brain or their metabolism, you literally can have permanent and lifelong consequences.
“So this is a serious and global public health threat."
In this recent study focusing on baby bottles, researchers also found that more plastic was released as the temperature of the water used to clean the bottles increased.
When researchers sterilized the bottles and exposed them to water at 70 degrees Celsius, around 16.2 million micro plastic particles were released per litre. But when the water temperature went up to 95 degrees Celsius, researchers found as many as 55 million plastic particles could be released into the water.
Meanwhile, at 25 degrees Celsius -- far too cool to pass international guidelines for proper sterilization -- only around 600,000 plastic particles were released.
“What we found is there's a direct correlation with the temperature of the water, so the higher the temperature of the water, the more microplastics are released,” said John Boland, one of the study’s authors and a professor at Trinity College in Dublin.
But temperature was not the only factor that changed the amount of microplastics leaching out from the bottle.
“What was really surprising is that if you have room temperature water, and you just shake it for a minute, you release hundreds and thousands of microplastics,” he added. “Mechanical agitation of the bottle also releases microplastics. And so that was surprising.”

1) Labels
Many children's products are manufactured according to common EU standards. CE marking is available for certain products, such as bicycle helmets and toys, which means that the manufacturer certifies that the product is safe. However, there is no guarantee that any authority has investigated the product.
2) Second Hand
We recommend buying used clothes and toys, as it's better for the environment and a lot cheaper, especially when your child grows quickly. Always check first to ensure that goods are undamaged, especially with regard to safety items such as bicycle helmets and car seats. Also, make sure they meet current safety requirements. Old toys and similar things can sometimes contain chemicals that are no longer approved, avoid them particularly as children tend to put them in their mouth.
3) Adapt to their age
If you have young children, keep in mind that you shouldn't buy toys with small, loose parts that can be swallowed, long strings that children can get around their neck, or toys with sharp edges with the risk to cut themselves on. Many toys are labeled with a symbol (like the ones below) that indicate the age the toy is suitable for.
4) Nontoxic
Plastic, paint and fabric can contain toxic substances that are harmful for your child, and some even contain substances that can affect a child' hormones. The best option is to buy non-toxic toys made from natural materials.
5) Clothing
Wash clothes before you allow your child to wear them, and buy used clothes whenever possible to avoid chemical residue from the manufacturing process. Also, make sure that clothes for small children don't have loose accessories such as buttons that could be a choking hazard.
6) Quality before quantity
Especially with rainwear and winter clothes, it's better to buy good quality garments. It will be cheaper in the long run and it is better for the environment. To the extent they're available, buy clothes with adjustable details, so that when your older child grows out, younger children can inherit them.
7) Easy to put on and take off
Children run in and out a lot, and you will save a lot of time and energy if you don't have to help them with dressing them as much. Especially for young children, shop for simplicity of use.
8) Functionality
Children are always playing in the dirt and clothes can easily become worn and dirty. Therefore, consider buying comfortable and durable clothes.
We hope that these tips will make it easier for you to find toys and clothes for your children that are gentler for both them and the environment.

To kickstart this blog we thought that we would start by telling you about Everyday Solutions and our background.
Lets get started!!!
Everyday Solutions is a very young, innovativ and new started Swedish company who has a vision to make everyday life easier, better and safer for the parents and their children.
That we now are three newly fathers are a confirmation that we have a great love for children. Our story started a little bit ironic with that the start up of the company and during the development of our first product non of us had any children nor on the way. Of course we didn’t think of it as being odd that we, ourself, did not have any children of our own since we love children and had loads of children around us from familymembers, and also our friends children. We where not that far away ourself of having children, but we haven’t taken the step yet to start our own family. It felt totally natural for us our people around us thought it was ironic that just we choose to work with babyproducts. During our first year with the company we travelled a lot and met amazing people and companies. All of them raised their eyebrows when we told them “no we don’t have children of our own yet”.
Just in time for our first product launch Thermoband was launched around Europe it was time to welcome our first child in to the group. Not long after we discovered that two more babies was on the way. We thought this was very exciting and fun that we got our children so close to eachother. We used to joke that we were not ready and did not feel safe enough before, but now since the Thermoband was launched and out on the market we felt home safe and completely comfortable. In addition to our love for our children we have a big passion to improve and simplify. This was what became the ground and foundation for the company.
We met when we where studying international sales and marketing and became good friends while we studied. We kept contact during a few years after school when we went our separate ways to do our own things. Then one day we met up and discussed some interesting ideas and that’s when the idea of the Thermoband, our first product in our line. Two years of development and it was launched.
After a huge success across Europe with sales in 16 countries and through the leading retailers like: Boots Pharmacy, Prenatal, DM, Superdrug, Flexi Farma and of course the biggest ones in Swedish pharmacy chains; Kronans Pharmacy and Apoteksgruppen together with the leading babystores the Thermoband is now followed by two new launches during the Spring.
The development has been long and difficult with highs and lows, but that is another story… Now we are here with the Thermoband in the shops and two other products soon on the way out on the market as well. We have great partners, distributors and resellers that we are very happy with and that want to share our journey with us.
This blog entry was a rather long introduction so we choose to stop here but we will be returning with the development of the company and the puzzle of life with our lovely sons and families in combination with the company.
Thank you so much for taking your time to read – we’ll soon see you again.
“Feel good and enjoy the everyday life” – Quote for the day
]]>Presenting company and products to make baby bottle feeding, bathing and sunscreen applying easier
Tuesday was an absolutely incredible and magical day. It was time for Business Challenge finale where we was one of 15 companies from the 400 applicants.
Business challenge is a contest in which Entrepreneurs compete with their ideas and their business. The aim is to create growth and jobs. We put entrepreneurs together with business profiles. The jury consists of these about 70 ‘s profiles and entrepreneurs!
The final consists of 2 stages, first a 15 minutes pitch followed by a q & a session. The 6 best from step 1, goes to step 2 for a final 5-8 minute pitch!
For us it started with that we set the day before off to produce the pitch and practice. As usual, it was hard to get a good structure together and make it sound good with transitions between the three of us. Full speed all day and no lunch we hurried to the train to come up to Stockholm in the evening – finally some rest from the pitch. When we approached Stockholm I asked – where do we stay? “Wouldn’t you book?” came back. A classic misunderstanding, no big deal.. but it’s the Eurovision week in Stockholm. Everything was booked. In the end, we found a hotel on Drottninggatan, when we got there and checked in they pointed us down into the basement.. When we got down, we realized, we should stay in a bunker. No Windows and minimal room.. Oh well we’ll just sleep.. After having practiced pitch up to 02 J
At 11.40 hours, it was our turn to step into the above one-third of the jury at the Grand Hotel. Nervous? As …. but once in place, we were able to find focus and delivered a really good pitch far over expectations, all just nailed. Then there was some serious grilling. Questions from the jury on the right and left and a lot of great tips!
We went to lunch and felt very satisfied. We were hoping of course that we would go ahead and make another pitch, but hardly dared to think about that now, it was just half the time so a new pitch must be practiced in.
An hour of exercise and we would find out if we went ahead. They collect all the contestants and draw all that top 6, and finally Everyday Solutions – yes! But pitch.. shit..
Last out now it was just to wait while one by one went into the jury room. Finally our turn. The heart beats … the jury. Now you just go for it!
Yet another good pitch, we surprised ourselves how good it felt!
After a real nice dinner with Smiling (cashew) as toast masters and many interesting and fruitful meetings, it was time for the final award – best company!….. Everyday Solutions – we won! Absolutely magical. So fun!
Quite lyrical and with lots of congratulations and conversations Business Challenge is about to end, the clock … we do not have enough time to our train home now.. so we had to celebrate a fantastic day with finding a hotel again which was impossible so we ended up on a boat that can hardly be called hotel, but there was a bed to sleep on and the feeling of winning made nothing else matter!
More photos are available on facebook – Business challenge!
Big thank you to everyone who supports us in different ways!
]]>Which feeding bottle should I chose?
Most parents use feeding bottles to complement breastfeeding or solely to feed the baby.
Today, the range of feeding bottles is substantially large and it makes it hard for a parent to know what feeding bottle to choose. There are many thoughts spinning around for a new parent, and of course you want your baby to have the best. The feeding bottle shall be safe, the baby shall take the feeding bottle, it should be easy to hold, anti-colic, what is that, and then of course it should be stylish too!
Here is a guide with the main points for choosing the right feeding bottle
Hope this has been helpful in choosing the right feeding bottle

]]>Even experienced mothers mostly opt for packaged food for their children than simple home cooked food.
The problem is that packaged commercial baby food loses important nutrients that a baby needs during their manufacturing process. Same goes for other food items that are processed in manufacturing units. Because of their storage, the preservatives added, the food loses their nutrition value.
Would you rather feed your kids processed food that has lost its nutritional value, or would you consider these following simple recipes that your kids will love and would not be rocket science for you to cook?
We are glad you are reading further, so here are some super simple kid foods that will be very nutritious for your children and tasty too.
Before we proceed further with the recipes, here are some things you should be careful about.
New babies need only one to two teaspoons of puree foods so keep the portion size small.
Again, before choosing the ingredients, make sure that you are avoiding foods that can kick off your kid’s allergies.
Because your baby is too small right now, the ideal foods for them are puree foods. Puree foods are nothing but making a puree of ingredients that are rich in vitamins and minerals, proteins, and fiber.
You can steam green peas until they are tender, mix it with breast milk and run it through the blender. Then you can strain it to remove any lumps and till it is smooth for baby consumption.
You can also make banana puree by mashing banana in breast milk and make it smooth for consumption.
Brown rice puree can also be made by blending cooked rice with breast milk and making a smooth mixture.
Carrots, Avocado, Sweet Potato, can also be made to create puree food options.
As the baby grows up to 7 months, you can start giving them thicker puree foods.
Pumpkin puree, spinach mixed with yam puree, beets puree, mixed veggies puree, squash puree, papaya puree, broccoli puree in creme are some recipes you can try.
Indians feed their babies with rice and dal, smoothened in a blender. Add a little bit of ghee to it and the kid will find it yummy, plus the ghee will help in baby’s digestion. Lentils are a good source of protein and fiber. They are also a rich source of potassium, zinc, and folic acid.
You can also create a puree of Quinoa cereal. Make sure it is smooth before feeding the baby.
Apple puree and other fruit puree are good, yummy options rich in fiber and good in taste that the baby will love. Make sure the apple is peeled before making the puree.
Now it’s time to introduce more chunkier and textured food to the baby. You can also experiment a little more with the ingredients.
It is also a good time now to introduce the little one with fish, chicken, lamb soups etc for the added protein. Along with that, rice, paste, and other thicker, mushier options would be something the kid would like to eat as their taste buds like.
Additionally, you can now introduce them to finger foods such as raspberries, mango, banana, tofu, carrot, strawberries, peas and peaches.
As the baby grows older, it is more open to try new foods with actual flavors other than sweet flavor. It is an opportunity for you to experiment with some slightly more complex recipes than usual to feed your child with some highly nutritious and tasty foods.
Following are some recipes that you can look up and try out.
Muffin Tin Meals, Oven Baked Fish Fingers, Sweet Potato Waffles, Millet Cakes with Carrots & Spinach, Baby Pasta, Mac and Cheese Muffins, Spinach Nuggets, Chickpea Patties, Sticky Chicken Drumsticks, Pesto Chicken Veggie Meatballs, Cheesy Quinoa and Broccoli Patties, Mini Chicken Pot Pies, Sweet potato, lentil & rice balls, Mini Frittatas, Baked Sweet Potato Tots, 7 Dwarf Chicken Pasta Soup, Whole Grain Mini Meatballs with Kale, Grilled Cheese, One-Skillet Fried Cauliflower Rice, English Muffin Pizzas, Quesadillas, Rainbow Peppers and Feta Quiche, Healthy Oatmeal Mini Muffins, Cheesy Brown Rice Chicken Cups, Baked Tofu Nuggets, Apple and Potato Pancakes, Popcorn chicken, Spinach and Ricotta Rolls, Toddler Fiesta Bowl Turkey, Beets, Carrots and Cilantro Mini Burgers are more than enough options for you to try out and see what your baby prefers the most.
Save this web page because it has food ideas that you can use to cook the most delicious and nutritious meals for your baby right from 4 months to 18 months.
Add to this list, yoghurt, breast milk, and you would have taken an end to end approach to keeping your baby healthy, full, happy and satisfied.
When the baby is fed well, the baby is less cranky, less irritated, and therefore needs less attention.
You can be the one who can introduce your baby to tasty yet nutritious food from an early age so that later he doesn’t get satisfied with just pizza and burger.
All the best!
]]>In our other blog, Why you shall have a glass baby bottle instead of a plastic baby bottle, we have discussed the different materials that bottles are made with but in this blog we will discuss other factors that will help in contributing valuable information so that you make the right choice.
When it comes to baby bottles, there are various components in each bottle, such as a glass bottle, a nipple, a screw ring, a sealing disc and a dust cover. Evaluating all these materials would be key in evaluating the baby bottle as a whole product.
So, let's consider the different components of baby bottles one by one.
As mentioned earlier, we have discussed Bottle Material in the previous blog, Why you shall have a glass baby bottle instead of a plastic baby bottle.
To continue the discussion, we will discuss other components of the bottle.
Advantages:
Latex is softer and more flexible.
Disadvantages:
Advantages:
Your baby is most probably transitioning from breastmilk to bottled milk and this transition should be as smooth as possible.
If the bottle is light weight, then it comes easier for you and the baby to hold it. Lightweight bottles also don’t add extra weight to your already stuffed diaper bag.
Too small bottles will lead to babies letting the bottle slip or losing grip of the tiny bottle.
As we discussed earlier that the baby is transitioning from breastfeeding to bottle feeding and therefore it becomes extremely important that the baby feels similarities between the breastfeeding experience and the bottle-feeding experience.
These similarities are brought about by the silicone nipples which neither allows the milk to flow freely nor is it too slow, thus, mostly mimicking the mother’s breastfeeding experience.
Even though some people argue that shorter bottles give the baby an experience of their mother’s breast, the volume of milk contained in the little bottle is too less to make the baby full. The baby therefore needs a regular sized bottle that contains enough milk to fill the baby. The discontinuity of refilling a smaller rounder bottle can lead to the baby not drinking the second round of milk at all.
The shape and size of the bottle therefore becomes very important.
As a mother, you want your baby to accept and like the bottle-feeding experience as much as it likes the breastfeeding experience. And therefore, you don’t want to pick the first bottle that comes in front of you. In fact, you want to do thorough research to ensure that the bottle that you are going to feed your baby with is extremely healthy for your child and will not lead to any health-related issues in the future.
]]>Research suggests that for a baby, the mother’s breast milk is the healthiest to begin with. But eventually you have to start feeding it outside milk too.
We are pretty sure that you feed the baby with the most high-quality milk but can you say the same about the bottle that feeds the milk to the baby?
Since there are so many options available in the market and your mind is extremely occupied with other things in your life, you end up picking up the first bottle available.
Something the lack of awareness and the casual process of selecting any available bottle can hurt your baby in the long run.
Therefore, in this blog, we will discuss the various materials used in manufacturing baby bottles and help you find the right baby bottle for your baby.
Choosing the right bottle depends mostly on the material that is used to manufacture the bottle. Let's discuss the different materials that are used in the manufacturing process and the impact they have on the babies when they drink from those bottles.
All in all, even though our heat sensing silicone coated glass bottles are slightly expensive than plastic bottles, the health of your baby is far more important, it makes sense to choose these bottles for your baby over the plastic bottles.
According to reporting done by NPR, “A new study in the journal, Nature Food, suggests that bottle-fed infants around the world may be consuming more than 1.5 million particles of microplastics per day on average.”
Considering that, isn’t it much better to feel our kids in microplastics free bottles?

Everyday Baby's first product was a universal temperature band that changes color when the baby formula is too hot. The company has now developed glass bottles with the same function, but also straw cups, straw bottles and a whole range of feeding serie which they now sell in 25 countries.
- Our trip has been extremely educational and exciting, but the best is yet to come. We are proud that we today have safe and healthy products that help our children, says Fredrik Persson, Marketing Manager and co-founder of Everyday Baby.
Everyday Baby offers smart and healthy solutions in everyday life for families with toddlers. The company was founded in 2013 by the three swedish fathers Andreas, Edon and Fredrik.
We all want to give the best to our children, and organic products should be an obvious choice. Children are particularly sensitive to chemicals that can be absorbed through the skin, and surprisingly, some of the products that are currently on the market for children even contain hormone-changing substances. You can avoid these chemicals altogether by purchasing organic products, which are also mild for sensitive skin. We have written this guide to help you find healthy organic products for your children.
Green is nice, but ...
Just because a label says it's 'green' or that it's healthy for the body and for the environment, there's no guarantee that it's true. Many companies market their products as green options when in fact they are anything but green. Finding out which products are really good can be difficult. However, there are a number of things you can keep in mind:
Labels you can look for:
Keep in mind that it's neither complicated nor expensive to let your children use organic products. You will find them in Fair Trade stores, health food stores and more and more often in regular grocery stores and pharmacies. We often use more products than we really need. Instead of using many non-organic products for your children, you can buy fewer products which are organic. Keep in mind that children don't need to shower or bathe very often, especially not in winter as it can really dry-out their skin.
